If You Built It, Enter It
Building the motorcycle of your dreams is no easy feat. Tire company Michelin wants to honor your hard work with a friendly, worldwide competition. Dubbed the “Design Your Motorcycle” challenge, the company is encouraging people to submit their bike to their challenge to have it judged by an international jury and passionate audience.
The contest is up right now and as of this writing has about four days before registration will close. Michelin will conduct the challenge in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch), ensuring a wide group of motorcyclists and motorcycle builders can participate. The challenge is open to all, including both professionals and amateurs.
There are three categories: Cruiser Style, Scrambler Vibes, and Bike to the Future. You can pretty much tell what the categories are based on the names, but here’s a quick rundown. The cruiser one is obviously for cruisers, the scrambler one for cool scrambler-style motorcycles. The future category is for bikes that are built with ideas and designs outside of the box—electric motorcycles, futuristic designs, artificial intelligence, etc.
It sounds like a cool contest. Winners of the challenge will be announced at EICMA in Milan on November 5, 2019. There will be one winner per category. Looks like a cool challenge. If you’re building a killer bike, what do you have to lose? You might as well register.
