Forget That $30,000 Price Tag
One of the biggest complaints with the Harley-Davidson LiveWire is its high $30,000 price tag. If you don’t have $30k to burn what do you do? Well, now you can rent a LiveWire to experience the future of Harley-Davidson. The motorcycle rental service Twisted Road has two Live Wires available for rent.
Yes, we know it’s only two, but that’s better than none. One of them is located near Los Angeles and the other is near San Francisco, so if you’re on or near the West Coast, you might want to think about renting one of these bikes. The company will rent the one in San Francisco for $175 a day. The Los Angeles bike will run you $199 per day. This is a lot higher than the average rental price, but that’s still a pretty darn good for something there are only two of right now.
My colleague Jim is thinking about giving this service a go and getting on a LiveWire, so we may have a review up at a later date if we can find time to get Jim down to California.
If you’re unfamiliar with Twisted Road it works like any other motorcycle rental company with one exception. You rent bikes directly from the owner. This usually allows for lower rental costs, which is a major plus of choosing the company. It will be interesting to see what comes of this and if more LiveWires are added to Twisted Road’s website in the future.
