Yamaha has made the TMax 530 scooter both safer and meaner.
The 2015 model comes with LED headlights, sportsbike brakes and immobiliser, plus Yamaha has released an all-black limited-edition Iron Max model.
The standard model still costs $13,499 plus on-road costs, while the Iron Max is another $500.
In recent years, Yamaha has made the maxi scooter lighter and more powerful, and last year they added ABS.
Now they have added supersport-spec radial-mount calipers and twin front discs for even better stopping power.
The redesigned TMax also gets dual, angular LED headlights for a better spread of brighter light.
In the previous headlight position is a delta-shaped central diffuser which reduces buffeting behind the two-step adjustable windscreen.
It now comes with a remote smartkey fob with immobiliser that also controls the seat and steering locks.
The TMax also features longer and higher mirrors, new 12V outlet, updated instruments and new upside-down motorcycle-style 41mm forks. They are silver on the standard model and gold on the Iron Max.
The limited-edition model also has gold highlight stitching in the two-tone dual seat to complement its mean “Liquid Darkness” colour scheme.
It features aluminium footplates, special emblems on the instruments and tailpiece and matt black wheels with grey pinstripes.
Yamaha has a long list of genuine accessories including luggage, passenger back rest, sport screen, GPS stay, winter apron, engine cover, belt cover, grip warmers and battery chargers.
