Our Opinions
Wizards Power Seal seems to be the least abrasive of the Wizards metal polishes we tried, including Wizards Metal Polish (wadding) and Wizards Metal Renew.
A treatment of Power Seal after polishing the Ducati GT1000’s chrome wheels to a mirror shine left a sort of “plasticky” feeling on the metal, and we’re hoping that this will protect the wheels throughout the winter months. Many GT1000 owners have complained of premature corrosion and thin chrome plating, so Wizards Power Seal may be the answer.
If you really want to get down and dirty, each spoke could be treated individually, but that seems like way too much work, especially when products like Spiffy Spokes are available (!).
After the metal has been treated with the other Wizards metal polishes, it’s usually pretty clean; thus, Power Seal is easy to apply and to remove.
Conclusion
When used as directed with Wizards Metal Polish and Wizards Metal Renew, most metal surfaces develop a glossy surface finish. A coating of Wizards Power Seal does seem to add a barrier that can help further corrosion, but the wheels will still get dirty and will need to be cleaned occasionally.
Score: 5 out of 5 when used with Wizards Shine Master
