Dress it up with wild paint, extra mirrors, chrome high-rise bars and you could make it a scooter/chopper. Throw on some ballooned tyres, clip-on bars and rear-set pegs and it becomes a cafe racer. Or maybe give it some knobby tyres, a high pipe and MX bars for that scrambler effect.

The basics are all there. A reliable and flexible 101cc four-stroke engine, four-speed semi-auto transmission, retro drum brakes, telescopic forks, adjustable rear suspension and 17-inch wheels that will handle whatever the urban landscape throws at you.

Keep it as a two-up machine, or take off the removable pillion saddle, fold in the rear foot pegs and passenger handle, and it quickly becomes a solo ride.

And the scooter has the backing of good build quality from SYM Motors, the Taiwanese manufacturer who has been making scooters since 1954. They also manufacture motorcycles, ATVs, mini-trucks, busses and have a deal with Hyundai of South Korea to make cars in Taiwan.
