Win Hondas on Snowy Ride

Mt HothamThis is a new section of Motorbike Writer where you get to plug your motorcycle event. It doesn’t matter if it’s for profit, charity or just a laugh. Send the details to hinchm@hotmail.com.

Riders can enjoy the Alpine region of NSW and Victoria this spring and win one of two Hondas for their troubles.
The annual Snowy Ride to raise fun for riders and funds for the Steve Walters Children’s Cancer Foundation is on again and all participants go in the draw to win a Honda VFR800 worth about $15,000.
Honda has been the major sponsor of the ride since its inception over a decade ago and will this year also offer a second prize of a Honda CRF250X enduro bike valued at $10,000.
The first Snowy Ride was launched in 2001 as a request from Steven Walter, a young man who lost his fight against cancer. Steven loved motorcycle riding and asked that a charity motorcycle ride be organised to raise funds for cancer research and cancer care.
The annual event brings together the motorcycling community across all levels from fans and pillion passengers, to manufacturers and service providers who all work together for the common cause of raising funds for this important cause.
Since its inception the ride has raised more than $3 million for the foundation and has grown to become the largest community motorcycle event in Australia attracting around 3000 riders plus many pillion passengers and spectators each year.
This year’s Snowy Ride starts on November 2. Riders leave from anywhere and have to pass through three checkpoints by 4pm to be eligible for one of the prizes.
Checkpoints are at Adaminaby, Dalgety, Berridale, Jindabyne, Cooma, Bombala, Charlotte Pass and Thredbo.
