Victory Motorcycles sponsors Wall to Wall Ride

The Wall to Wall Remembrance Ride to honour police who have died in the line of duty will be sponsored by Victory Motorcycles Australia.

The ride to Canberra on September 12 will help raise money for each State’s Police Legacy Charities and promote safe and lawful motorcycling.

Victory Motorcycles will sponsor the event and donate $100 for every bike sold to a law enforcement officer to the officer’s home State Police Legacy, for the remainder of the year.

Ride organiser NSW Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy says this year’s Wall to Wall Ride will be the “largest gathering of police motorcycle enthusiasts ever assembled in Australia”.

Riders will start their journeys from their respective State Police Memorial to Canberra for a ride on Saturday, September, 12, to the National Police Memorial.

The ride is one of many held around the world. In the UK, the Blue Knights Ride in September coincides with National Police Memorial Day and in the US, there seem to be different dates in each state. Texas police held theirs recently, attracting more than 550 motorcycles.

It isn’t only police who attend the rides. They are also open to the public and well worth supporting.

A former police inspector and close friend told me he had attended several funerals for officers killed in the line of duty.

It’s pretty sad when you’re up the front of the funeral near the family and their son is playing with a toy truck under the coffin.
