March 29, 2013 – Vega announced the Phantom convertible helmet today. The Phantom is the latest addition to the company’s Stealth line of premium helmets, offering “exceptional
European styling, superior fit, plush fabrics and edgy graphics” at relatively low cost.
The Stealth Phantom seamlessly transforms from an open-face style to a closed-face
helmet with an ergonomically designed jaw piece that attaches easily for additional wind,
rain and dust protection.
“This is a truly versatile 2-in-1 for those riders who want to rely on one helmet for multiple riding situations” said Jeanne DeMund, Vice-President for Vega Helmets.
“In addition to the convenience of a convertible, the Phantom provides our customers with an
abundance of features for safety, comfort and performance that are characteristic of our Stealth line.”
The Phantom is dual-certified to meet both stringent European ECE standards and meet or exceed US DOT standards. To maximize comfort and minimize fogging, the Phantom is equipped with forehead, chin, cheek and rear venting, as well as a fully removable and washable Comfort fit liner, made with soft anti-microbial Wick-Dri fabric.
For improved visibility on the road, the Phantom has a 6-position, optically correct and scratch-resistant clear outer shield, with a Smoke-tinted interior drop-down sunshield that is removable and replaceable with Light Smoke or Amber options.
The Vega Stealth Phantom is available in six sizes (XS-2XL) and comes in seven colors, plus
the Butterfly graphic. MSRP is $119.99 for solid colors and $129.99 for the graphic option.
