The 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 range is lighter and has more than 200 improvements, but you can expect a price hike of up to $2350 for the upgrade.
The new models are now available in Australia and feature LED lighting, lighter exhausts, better ergos, six riding modes, up/down quick shifter, updated cruise control, full-colour TFT instruments, back-lit controls, keyless ignition, Brembo front brakes switchable ABS and traction control, and improved off-road ability.
Price hike
But all that extra tech and features comes at a price hike:
MODEL | 2017 price | 2018 price | increase |
Tiger 800 XRX & XRX LOW | $17,100 | $18,550 | $1450 |
Tiger 800 XCX | $18,150 | $19,650 | $1500 |
Tiger 800 XRT | $18,350 | $20,700 | $2350 |
Tiger 800 XCA | $19,950 | $21,300 | $1350 |
Adventure bikes seem to have as much if not more tech than sports bikes these days.
And you have to wonder when there is too much tech on an adventure bike.
Perhaps Triumph should consider a stripped-down model to keep novice and budget adventure riders happy.
Here are the details on each new model.
