Triumph Motorcycles Australia has recalled the Speed Triple R and Speed Triple S over a possible electrical short and engine stall issue.
The notice issued through the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says a bracket may interfere with the link lead.
That could damage the outer protective sheathing and over time potentially expose the wire.
Contact between the bracket and the exposed wire may lead to an electrical short which can cause the engine to stall “without warning”, the notice says.
Bikes affected are in the VIN (Vehicle identification number) range from 735337 to 854938.
Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail and asked to contact a Triumph dealer to arrange an inspection and repair.
