Remember when Overdrive tried minibike racing?

The team’s antics might have doled out a stitch or three hooning about in the sub-four-feet atmosphere, but for those special gents and ladies undertaking professional races on the regular, the dedication needed to get results on ANY bike should not be underestimated.

French pit bike & dirtbike specialist YCF understands this, so they’ve developed a new GP-inspired range of bikes…mini-style.

According to RideApart, the “GP” range consists of three models, each with a different displacement of engine:

  • YCF GP 107 (110cc)
  • YCF GP 157 (150cc)
  • YCF GP 187 (190cc)

This range is apparently available for “youngsters and folks looking to sharpen their track-riding skills,” and we can’t help but agree; this thing would be an insanely fun addition when practising time on the twisties.

We’re also told that getting “down” on one of these GP models will help to “up” your lean game – after all, the bike’s so small that the knee’s scraping the asphalt before you know it.

Or perhaps you didn’t even know about it.

You just sneezed, and bam.

Regardless, you’re that much closer to joining the knee-down gang at your next moto meet! Congrats, and what fun.

A heads up, these bikes are kept as basic as possible, to ensure speedy maintenance when in the paddock; as such, don’t expect fancy stuff like electronic fuel injection (they’ve got carburetors).

Perks for the GP lineup include the small-but-mighty 12” wheels, an aluminum chassis, 28” seat height, a belly pan in the event of an oil leak, and the following prices (these are estimations from the UK pricing, as we wait for the US pricing to be announced):

  • YCF GP 107 – $3,865 USD
  • YCF GP 157 – $4,638 USD
  • YCF GP 187 – $5,522 USD
