German company Touratech has long been identified as a provider of high-quality, well-tested motorcycle accessories.
So when they say they have updated their waterproof motorcycle luggage, you know they have given it a thorough test.
Touratech says their new Adventure Dry Bags are “extreme-duty, waterproof travel bags designed specifically to withstand the rigours of hard-core adventure motorcycle riding”. They make the point that they are not just “repurposed whitewater rafting, canoeing or camping gear”. Although we have found that outdoor adventure gear can often be quite suitable for motorcycle use.
The new Adventure Dry Bags were made in a joint project with dry-luggage company Ortlieb.
They are made of polyurethane with welded seams and horizontal roll closures, and have a certified waterproof rating of IP64 in independent, internationally recognised scientific testing.
The bags open wide and are backed by a stiffener to facilitate easy loading and unloading. They also have compression straps on each side and tension straps over their closures to lock them and minimise pack size.
They come with nylon carrying handles and detachable, padded shoulder straps to carry them around and cordura reinforcement panels on both sides with mounting slots for tie-down points and high-strength D-rings to secure straps.
They have lots of 3M Scotchlite reflective material on the ends and come in three sizes and four colours (black, silver, yellow and a special Dakar sand colour).
The 31-litre medium bag ($148) suits rear racks or the tops of panniers and top cases, while the 49-litre ($160) and 89-litre ($176) sizes fit on rear racks or lengthwise across passenger seats. Shop here.
