What does skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk need with a custom built Sporster? The bike, created by Roland Sands Design (RSD) is actually for the Tony Hawk Foundation, the organization created by Hawk to build skate park projects in low income communities. Based on the Harley Davidson Sportster XL Nightster, this is the second customized bike Hawk has commissioned from RSD. The first, a very similar design, was auctioned off last October in Los Angeles for $30,000. The newer one was auctioned in Las Vegas. “We added some RSD flair with the café kit, Boss Wheels in Black Ops with a turbine air cleaner, master cylinder cap, our new café seat by Mustang (available 2012), RSD tracker exhaust, Moto foot pegs and tracker grips.” -Roland Sands The 900 painted on the side pays homage to the fact that Hawk was the first skater to land a 900, in 1999.
