If you’ve ever wanted to buy a bike at auction, it might be time to consider as there are eight interesting motorcycles and two scooters available at the annual Shannons Late Autumn Sydney Auction on Monday (May 30 2016).
Among the motorcycles on offer this time is the very desirable 1970 Honda CB 750 KI with no reserve. It is expected to fetch $12,000 to $15,000.
The bike was the first of the Japanese superbikes and is considered one of the 10 most significant bikes of the last century.
Other interesting motorcycles at the auction include a 1970 Kawasaki 650 WI expected to fetch $7000-$10,000, a 1959 Bianchi 125 ($6000-$8000), 1958 Moto Morini 125 ($4000-$6000), 1972 Honda CB350 ($3000-$4000), 1970 Triumph TR6 Tiger ($12,000-$15,000) and a 1957 MV Agusta 175cc ($5000-$7000).
It also might be time for scooter enthusiasts to check out an auction as there is a pigeon pair of period Italian scooters up for bids.
The circa-1960 Lambretta LI150 Series II and circa-1961 Vespa 150cc Scooter are both offered with no reserve and expected to sell in the $2000-$4000 range.
But if your budget doesn’t stretch that far, there’s also a ‘no reserve’, unrestored Vintage child’s scooter in the auction that Shannons expect to bring around $150.
All lots can be viewed online or at 65 Reserve Road, St Leonards, NSW, today (28 May) from 9am-4pm and tomorrow 10am-4pm.
