Suzuki recall 1296 bikes over fuel leak

Suzuki Australia has recalled the V-Strom 650 (DL650), GSX-S750 and GSX-R1000A over a problem with the fuel pump tat can result in a minor fuel leak.

This recall affects 528 V-Stroms, 167 GSX-750s and 501 GSX-R1000 motorcycles in Australia.

The official recall notice issued through the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says the O-ring on the fuel pump may have become twisted during the installation process.

“If the seal has been twisted, it may reduce the performance of the seal,” it says.

Even though manufacturers and importers contact owners when a recall is issued, the bike may have been sold privately to a rider unknown to the company.
