The Shark Evoline 3 ST Mezcal helmet is available for around $400, and it is a high-quality helmet available in the mid-range helmet category. For a comfortable and protected riding experience with complete freedom, the Evoline helmet is an ideal choice.
It is a great helmet for commuting within the city and long distance riding as well. If you want to enjoy the comfort of an open-faced and full-faced helmet in one single package, you will fall in love with the Evoline helmet instantly.
Features
The Evoline series helmets from Shark are known for their specific characteristics and features. They are lightweight and offer some premium features in the affordable helmets category.
The helmet has an extra round internal shape which makes it a great choice for people who want some extra room in the temple and ear area. If you have squeezed yourself inside an intermediate oval helmet, you will enjoy wearing this roomy helmet.
The Evoline 3 ST is a modular helmet that weighs 4.13 pounds.
Shell Design
The shell is made of Lexan polycarbonate shell. While the shell is not exactly exotic, it caters to the needs of a sturdy and resilient helmet.
Fiberglass shell is one of the most exotic designs in shell construction. However, the polycarbonate shell also offers adequate protection. The shell is bulky with several moving parts, but everything has been incorporated nicely for creating a new groundbreaking helmet that exceeds the expectations of motorcycle riders.
Interior
The interior liner material is made of a different material compared to what is found in the other Shark helmets. The high-quality liner is super soft and cool against the skin. The liner snaps to the helmet all around your cheeks, eliminating any kind of pressure point.
The Coolmax liner is much softer than any other similar liner. The thick padding is comfortable and adequately provides sound proofing. The removable and washable liner helps you to keep your helmet fresh all the time.
The adjustable liner makes it possible to obtain a custom fit inside the helmet.

The ventilation system of the Evoline helmet is good enough for riding in hot weather conditions. When you are riding in hot summer weather, you can rotate the chin bar all the way to the back to enjoy a much cooler helmet.
The rotating chin bar design has hindered the vent design to some extent. The top vent is minimalistic, and it can be controlled with a switch. There are no exhaust vents at the back, which slightly creates problems with the ventilation. The chin vent also provides sufficient air inside the helmet.
The auto-up system makes it possible to manipulate the chin bar easily. The main shield and the chin bar are combined into a single system which can be moved using a single movement without the need for any fiddling.
Face Shield and Sun Visor
There is a small opening available with the face shield to allow defogging. Shark claims that the helmet has a hermetic watertight edging, but in reality, there is no gasket and thus the clear visor doesn’t close shut. This may make the helmet unsuitable for riding in the rain because water will eventually find its way through the gaps.
The helmet design also includes a sun visor that can be engaged using a slider switch. The ECE standard requires 50% light transmission, and thus the tint is not very dark.
Safety
Most of the modular helmets are not designed to be worn safely with the chin bar up. However, the Evoline helmet has safety approval for both the full-faced and open-faced helmet design. It is one of the rare features which make the Evoline helmet one of the safest helmets you can wear.
You can ride it with the chin bar all the way at the back or as a full-faced helmet. The helmet is ECE approved and it is completely safe.
Other Factors for Consideration
The seamless rotating chin bar is one of the most characteristic features of this helmet. The chin bar moves all the way back converting this full-face helmet into an open-face design almost instantly. The clear visor must be raised fully before rotating the chin bar; after which it locks in place and provides more freedom in riding.
Overall, it is a great helmet with nice features and a mid-range price. Click here for more details.
