(October 16, 2014) – The Sena Prism action camera (review) is finally year and will be released in November, according to Sena.
The camera, which will be called the “Prism”, will feature Bluetooth 4.0 for audio recording via a Bluetooth intercom.
The Bluetooth capability allows the user to control the camera by voice commands through a Sena intercom.
There is also a clip-on hand grip controller that can be used to control the camera.
Using a voice or thumb control (joystick on the hand grip controller) makes it easy to start and stop the video recording, which improves battery life because you record only the video you want.
The Prism has a waterproof rating of 1 meter without requiring a waterproof case.
The Prism camera kit comes with a huge number of accessories that cost extra with other brands of action cameras.
The kit includes the camera, a waterproof housing (for water sports), a double suction cup mount, modular brackets, a handlebar mount, a goggle mount, helmet mount and the unique hand grip controller.
Photos of the final production version and basic details of the Sena Prism action camera are below and we hope to have an example for a full review before the end of the year.

Background
October 17, 2013 – Sena had a major announcement today at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida. The Sena Bluetooth Action Camera has advanced features unlike no other current motorcycle video camera.
This is a revolutionary new design that can be controlled via the Sena SMH10 and new SMH20S intercom system.
The Action Camera also sends spoken status announcements back to the Sena Bluetooth headset to inform the rider about camera functions.
For example, the camera will tell the rider when it’s recording and when it has stopped. Remote voice recording is also available, so the rider can overlay voice and/or the Bluetooth headset music on to the video as it is being recorded.
Remote control of the Action Camera will also become possible as Sena develops the technology. The camera is still in final stages of development, so some features may change.
The mounts for the camera will be the quick release type — no screws.
A helmet mount similar to the Sena Bluetooth intercom mount will be provided with the Sena Action Camera motorcycle kit.
The mount attaches to the right side of the helmet and the camera can be snapped in and out via the quick release.
Other quick release mount options will be provided with the kit.
Sena is also working on a firmware update for the Action Camera that will allow it to communicate with other brands of intercoms but with a slightly smaller control capability.
The Sena Bluetooth Action Camera kit, which includes the camera, mounts and various accessories, will have a list price of $399.00 and will be available some time after January of 2014. Specifications and press release are posted below.

Owner Comments and Feedback
See details on submitting comments.
From “N” (October 2013): ” While that camera is not very easy on the eyes, it does make for a very nice “vlogger” camera.
My Sena headset has some of the best noise cancellation I’ve ever encountered, while my mic setup for my vlogging catches a lot of wind noise.
As long as the mounting system isn’t terribly offensive, it’s at least a neat idea.”
