SCHUBERTH Helmets USA

SCHUBERTH Returns to the U.S.A

September 17, 2010 – Rumors of Schuberth’s return to the U.S.A. have come true and the company announced its new California headquarters and helmet sales in the U.S. for the first time in four years.

The new SCHUBERTH Helmets offices in Aliso Viejo, California will serve as the headquarters, which will includes an official SCHUBERTH Service Center.

The company plans on marketing its helmets through a network of U.S. retailers, including the webBikeWorld.com affiliate, RevZilla.  The DOT version of the SCHUBERTH C3 can be ordered through this special link to RevZilla.

What is interesting about the SCHUBERTH strategy is that they will completely bypass the somewhat arcane and Byzantine U.S. motorcycle distribution system and will directly import and distribute SCHUBERTH helmets with no assistance.

Hopefully, this will mean a much better customer relationship than was possible in the past, when SCHUBERTH started selling helmets in the U.S. in partnership with Fairchild Sports in 2006, but then quickly pulled out of the market.

SCHUBERTH has also joined webBikeWorld.com in becoming a member of the Motorcycle Industry Council.

The General Manager for SCHUBERTH North America is Randy Northrup, who said that the company will first develop a small network of dealers who will become certified SCHUBERTH specialists.  The company will start by introducing the SCHUBERTH C3 (review), which was reviewed on webBikeWorld.com in 2008 when it was first released in Europe.

The most recent SCHUBERTH C3 and SCHUBERTH SRC (review) was recently reviewed on webBikeWorld.com.  The SRC is the “SCHUBERTH Rider Communications” Bluetooth intercom system, developed by Cardo (Scala Rider) specifically for Schuberth.  The system fits into a collar that attaches to all SCHUBERTH helmets and it will also be sold in the U.S.A.

The SCHUBERTH C3 will be available in sizes S through XL in black, white and silver).  Unfortunately, the high-visibility yellow color we reviewed will not be available in the U.S. at this time.  The list price of the C3 is $699.00 and the SRC system will have a list price of $399.

Northrup said that “SCHUBERTH GmbH is aware that current owners of SCHUBERTH helmets in the U.S. have been struggling to get parts and service … and has opened a certified SCHUBERTH Service Center in California.  Our factory-trained Master Technician will be on hand to help existing customers with their helmets.”

“We are excited to re-introduce the North American market to our award winning, German-engineered motorcycle helmets, accessories, and customer service effort through a network of exclusive dealers this November” said Northrup.

SCHUBERTH North America is owned by SCHUBERTH GmbH of Magdeburg, Germany.  SCHUBERTH motorcycle helmets are made in Germany.
