Leading Australian motorcycle stuntman Robbie Maddison has recreated his famous riding-on-water stunt in Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

The performance was for the media only, but the public can see him over the weekend.

Robbie will perform the stunt twice on the Saturday and Sunday of the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show at the Convention Centre at noon.

It will be the first time the stunt has been seen in public.

The stunt rider first performed his “Pipe Dream” stunt on a wave near Teahupoo in Tahiti in 2015. It was recorded in this video.

The Australian FMX champ holds several world records including the longest distance jumped on a motorcycle.

His stunt work includes riding across the roofs of Istanbul for the James Bond movie Skyfall, riding down an Olympic ski jump for the One Any Sunday sequel, back-flipping over the Tower Bridge in London, jumping the Corinth Canal in Greece, and leaping up to and jumping off the Las Vegas Arc de Triomphe replica.

But his “Pipe Dream” stunt is now his most famous.

He will recreate the stunt on Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, at noon on Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26. His waterbike demonstrations are free for the public to attend.

“We will be creating a full-blown flat-track-style layout on the water in Cockle Bay with viewing for spectators from all sides of Darling Harbour which will be incredible,” he says.

Spectators will also be able to view the specially modified KTM with skis and a rear sand paddle tyre and get the rider’s autograph on all three days of the show.Robbie Maddison harbour

Organisers of the Sydney Motorcycle Show say there will be more motorcycle stunts and demonstrations inside the venue.

The show will feature many of the latest motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and side-by-sides, some of which will be available for test rides.

Event Organiser Troy Bayliss said the Sydney International Convention Centre location provided the perfect opportunity to introduce this aspect of the show.
