October 16, 2013 – The new Shark “Raw” helmet has to be one of the most unique designs…ever.

I ordered one — as did many other webBikeWorlders — way back in the Spring.

The helmets were supposed to be here in July, then September.

Well, the wait is finally (almost) over!

The container full o’ Sharks is here in the U.S. of A., waiting for Customs approval.

Shark said the helmets should be arriving at your doorstep within a matter of weeks. We’ll have a full review just as soon as we can.

In the meantime, here are some pics and a quick video taken today at the AIMExpo. The Raw helmets look just as cool in the flesh as they do in the photos and they’re very light and have some type of bamboo fiber liner that feels comfy and is supposed to be efficient at moisture control.

You can place an order through the Shark Raw helmets page on RevZilla, a webBikeWorld affiliate.

Also, Shark had a photo (below) of a new adventure-touring/off-road helmet called the “Advent-R” (pronounced like ‘advent-char’) they’ll be introducing at the upcoming EICMA show in Milan. It has a built-in goggle system and an open eye port but it’s built off the Shark Vision-R shell. Here’s a webBikeWorld review of the Shark Vision-R GT Carbon.
