Pennie Lane is the Gas Axe entry for Artistry In Iron 2015. It started life as a beautifully restored 59 panhead done on an aftermarket frame. We used the drivetrain off the bike, sold the rest of the bike and the journey began. We wanted to design a bike that had a suspension but looked like a rigid frame. We wanted to do something that had we had never seen done in the bike industry. I searched the internet after designing the rear and front and found nothing like it. The rear is an arched Model A car front spring that provides a dampening effect, connected by the sissy bar and lower section of the frame. The frame pivots at the bottom via clevis type mount and the Model A spring hanger under the seat provides the rocking/pivot at the top. The front end is the Model A car front axle welded to a custom designed triple tree and spring loaded stainless shocks at the rear of the beam to provide the dampening. frame has a polished stainless. The wheels are a vintage set of Magnesium mags
