Norton has just opened up their atelier shop at the Bike shed in London – and the place shows off inspiration from the gold-fingered Savile Row fashion designer, Nick Tentis.
As a brand, Norton has had quite the ride. From her initial Birmingham-based birth in 1898, all the way across the history books to the brand’s successes in Isle of Man TT and, more recently, their journey through the UK equivalent to US Chapter 11 bankruptcy… you could say they’ve had the book thrown at them on more than one occasion.
Yes, the company has surely had her share of ups and downs – which is why the opening of The New Norton Atelier marks a decided upswing in the brand’s industry contribution, with no one more appreciative of the present than Christian Gladwell, Chief Commercial Officer at Norton Motorcycles.
“Seeing the Norton brand move from within the four walls of Norton HQ and out into the marketplace is positive on a number of levels,” Gladwell in a recent report from VisorDown.
“For Norton to have created the first of its own spaces from scratch shows our commitment to the growth of this historic marque, at the same time as setting a new standard for motorcycle retail.”
“Dealer partner inquiries signified the level of demand for our motorcycles, and I’m immensely proud of the work the commercial team has done to meet that demand with what is a growing dealer network.”
Welcoming Norton with open arms is none other than Gareth Charlton, the Global Brand Director of Bike Shed Moto Co., who is “delighted to welcome Norton Motorcycles into our shop space at 386 Old Street.”
“With their glorious history and dynamic vision for the future, I cannot think of a better neighbor for Bike Shed Shoreditch.”
The season is warming up, and we look forward to seeing some good traffic for Norton and the Bike Shed. Would you visit?
