Features
The Nexx X30 Helmet boasts many inviting features that should be on every helmet.
1- Paint and Graphics
The Nexx X30 is available in a variety of vivid metal flake colors in Europe. However, in the United States the helmet is only available in matte gray and matte black as well as the “Viper” pattern. These graphics were designed to following the angularity of the helmet style to improve aesthetics. The paint and graphics are carefully applied resulting in a helmet with no imperfections.
2- Shape and Fit
The X30 helmet has a rounded internal shape that is neutral thus fitting most head shapes. The shell design is slightly shorter from the top-to-base than the average helmet. Luckily it is not short enough to have your chin sticking out but it takes some getting used to. The X30 also has a shorter front-to-back internal distance than the standard helmet. Keep in mind that the sizes are true to the measured dimensions.

With removable liner and cheek pads, these can easily be washed in a normal washing machine once dirty. The liner and cheek pads connect to the shell using standard plastic snaps. When in the shell, they feel firm and solidly in-place. The snaps holding them in are of higher-quality and do not feel as if they will break.
4- Ventilation
The front of the helmet boasts a chin bar shaped like a V with the upper part working as a chin vent. It is simple to use, just push it in and the cover will flip back to allow for improved air flow. The top vent is a slider located on the top. To use, just push it back to uncover the vent holes.
5- Visor
The most unique feature of the X30 is the rotating visor which is unlike any other helmet on the market. The entire visor rotates upward but the face shield does not open. It feels a bit strange but once used a few times, it is comfortable. This type of design allows for the X30 to be considered a full-face helmet according to ECE safety standards.
The X30 also has an internally rotating sun visor which presents exceptional optical qualities. There is a switch on the side of the helmet to move the sun visor up and down and it has the ability to be stopped at any position. This allows for flexibility during riding on sunny days. However, it is never recommended to move the visor on any helmet when riding.
6- Noise Level
During movement, there is no real noise level difference between the X30 and a standard full-face helmet with regards to air flow, comfort, feel or noise level. Therefore, the unique design of this helmet does not affect overall performance. It is important to note that noise levels can vary based on the riding position, windscreens, clothing and type of motorcycle.
7- Weight
Constructed from Advanced Thermo Resin, the XL size weighs 3-lbs., 10.13-oz. which is considered relatively lightweight for this type of helmet. During use, the X30 feels well-balance and has excellent air flow and control without excess head toss or buffeting. This is on-part with full-face helmets but must lighter weight for flip-fronts due to the internal mechanisms to help shift the front of the helmet. Since it is a hybrid helmet, this offers an excellent weight to the rider while still remaining durable.
Additional Information
According to this video from Nexx Helmets, the X30 has underwent extensive drop testing to ensure it is of the highest safety standards. Other testing includes, a leak down test to ensure no water leaks through the seams, crash testing, light testing, in-use testing and aerodynamic testing. These tests are all part of the DOT, ECE 22.05 & Snell Motorcycle Helmet Standards which are different safety certifications in the United States and Europe.
The Nexx X30 is an exceptional helmet in design and function. With well-placed ventilation, removable pieces for washing, light weight feel that still secures your head during riding, an advanced design, a unique rotating visor and a hybrid full-face design, this is one of the best helmets on the market. For the ultimate in protection and style, the Nexx X30 is one of the top choices among motorcycle riders and enthusiasts in Europe and the United States.
