Importers of Benelli, MV Agusta and Royal Enfield, Urban Moto Imports, have announced no price increases across the whole range with the Himalayan and several new Benellis on the way.
UMI marketing manager Joshua Pilley confirms the Royal Enfield Himalayan “is still going through homologation”, so it shouldn’t be too far from an official launch.
The full price list on UMI models is included at the end of this article, but doesn’t include the latest offer of a free pair of MV panniers, worth $2000, with the Turismo Veloce 800 sports tourer.
New MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 sports tourer comes with free panniersMeanwhile, the Benelli range has been reduced from 10 motorcycles and one scooter to just four motorcycles and a scooter. However, Josh says they will add several new models in coming months, including the BN251 “shortly”.
Benelli BN 251It is powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder, four-stroke DOHC Benelli engine with 18kW (24.5hp) of power at 9000rpm and 21Nm at 7000rpm and comes with 280mm front disc with a four-piston caliper, a 240mm rear disc with a double-piston caliper.
But it’s not the Benelli BN251 that we are excited about. It’s the Leoncino scrambler with its knobby tyres, big front wheel, tall suspension and motocross-style handlebars.
Benelli LeoncinoThe new Leoncino design from CentroStile Benelli proudly displays the Lion of Pesaro on the front fender and includes LED running lights, steel trellis frame, upside down 50mm forks, lateral rear shock and twin 320mm front discs.
It is powered by a new twin-cylinder four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 500cc made by Benelli. Maximum power is 35kW at 8500rpm and torque is 45Nm at 4500 revs.
The Leoncino features wet sump lubrication, electronic injection, overhead double camshaft timing system, 4 valves per cylinder, hydraulic clutch and a six-speed gearbox.
The aluminium spoked rims are 19” at the front and 17” in the rear with wide 110/80-ZR19 and 150/70-ZR17 tyres.
It weighs in at a lithe 170kg which is 16kg lighter than the Ducati Scrambler which is the lights of the modern scramblers.
Another tasty Benelli to come includes the the sharp-beaked TRK 502 adventure bike powered by the same engine as the scrambler with identical output and revs.
Benelli TRK 502It looks ready for adventure with Pirelli Angel knobby tyres, 150mm-travel suspension with upside-down forks, 19-inch front wheel, hand guards, a 20-litre fuel tank and 230mm clearance.
The TRK 502 is driven by chain through a six-speed gearbox with a light hydraulic clutch.
Brakes are also identical to the Leoncino scrambler, but weight is much higher at 201kg.
