MV Agusta adds another Dragster

2017 MV Agusta Dragster RC

Financially shaky Italian manufacturer MV Agusta is not introducing any new models this year, but is pumping out plenty of variants, especially of their popular Dragster 800.

The latest is the Dragster 800 RC. Basically it’s an RR with World Superbike race livery plus some carbon fibre bits and a higher price tag.

There is no word yet from MV Agusta Australia on the price, but the RR sells for $23,499 plus on-road costs.

The RC follows the release this week of the RVS#1 Dragster which is a lighter and more powerful scrambler variant with slightly knobby Pirelli MT 60 RS tyres.

Like all RC models, this will be produced in limited numbers. Only 350 will be available worldwide and we imagine only a handful will come to Australia.

MV has added a carbon fibre windscreen and radiator-panels, gold-anodised fully-adjustable Marzocchi front-forks, forged aluminium-alloy rims from the F4 RC and a red-stitched seat embroidered with the RC logo.

There doesn’t appear to be any performance updates or even less weight, despite the use of carbon fibre.

The RR and RC pump out 103kW of power, while the RVS#1 has 111kW and is 8kg lighter.2017 MV Agusta Dragster RC

Earlier this year the company unveiled a Dragster 800 Blackout in all black that was very tasty, but it turned out to be a showpiece, only.

Shame as it looked a lot more stylish than this pretend racer.

We wonder just how many more variants of this model are possible!

Perhaps they will also go ahead with Brutale 800RR Ballistic Trident custom with a “dustbin” fairing.
