Motorcycles and rock music harmonise

Kingswood

Motorcycles and rock music have gone hand in hand since rock and roll was invented and this weekend the relationship continues.

Melbourne indie rock band Kingswood performed at an intimate gig for 40 fans at Rising Sun custom motorcycle workshop in Sydney last month and will perform at Kustom Kommune workshop in Melbourne on Sunday (October 12) in partnership with sponsor Harley-Davidson.

The invited guests are winners of a competition run through motorcycle customisation community platform, The Shed.

Kingswood guitarist Alex Laska says the band is mad about motorcycles.

“We spend a lot of time customising and working on our bikes when we’re not on the road, so it seemed like a natural fit to combine this with our first love of music,” he says. “We’re excited about giving our fans the chance to get involved, see these bike workshops and the community and culture behind it all – it’s a really unique opportunity for us and them.”

Kingswood’s debut album, Microscopic Wars, was produced by Vance Powell (Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon) and recorded in Nashville USA.
