Moto Guzzi has added dual Ohlins shocks to its V9 Bobber to make its handling and ride sportier.

The new V9 Bobber Sport model also gets fork gaiters, a short screen, solo seat and vibrant burnt orange paint.

Moto Guzzi Australia spokesman Dale McBride says they are “currently evaluating it for our market with availability mid next year”.

“More information will be released next week,” he says.

The bike was unveiled at the weekend at the Moto Guzzi Open House event at the factory at Mandello del Lario on Lake Como.sporty Moto Guzzi V8 Sport bronze sportier

It’s not a limited edition, but the fully adjustable Ohlins suspension should not only make ride and handling sportier but also increase price.

The current V9 Bobber and Roamer costs $15,190 (plus on-road costs) and we expect about a $1000 premium.

Moto Guzzi say the Bobber Sport is inspired by American flat track racers after the War.

The V9 Bobber Sport edition is still powered by the 853cc V-twin with 40kW of power and 62Nm of peak torque at a low 3000rpm.

It’s a very drivable and malleable unit as we found on our test ride.

We had suspected it would come with wire-spoked like some V7 III models – their most popular range. However, they have stayed with the same design.

They have also retained the same dual megaphone matte-black mufflers.

Next to come from the northern Italian manufacturer will be the highly anticipated V85 scrambler/adventure bike, pictured below in concept form.

The production version V85 is ready for the assembly line and will be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November.
