Thanks to the new rules on European-approved helmets throughout Australia, Moto Guzzi Australia has imported a range of helmets to suit the new V9 Bobber and Roamer.

The $315 open-faced jet helmets are not only stylish and low profile, but also match the new colours of the hipster V9 models.

The bikes look like they have already been customised, yet Moto Guzzi also has a range of accessories for further personalisation as well as a dedicated range of rider clothing.

The helmets are part of that personalisation and are part of Guzzi’s new drive to create brand loyalty.

It’s something that brand such as Harley-Davidson, BMW, Triumph and Ducati have been doing for years.

The Italian-made ECE 22.05-approved helmets have an ABS shell soft leather trim and hypoallergenic lining with a tricolor flag detail on the lower left edge.

They come in sizes XS to XL.

There is also a clear and smoked bible visor available for $75.

This comes as Moto Guzzi importer John Sample Automotive has announced it is handing over Australian distribution of Moto Guzzi and Aprilia to Piaggio Group and PS Importers Pty Ltd who import Triumph, Piaggio, Vespa and Arctic Cat.

John Sample Automotive introduced Aprilia Motorcycles into the Australian market in 1997 and later added the iconic Moto Guzzi brand to its stable in 2003.

John Sample says the consolidation of the brands will “ensure the economies of scale necessary for them to grow and thrive in an ever-changing and increasingly competitive industry”.

The transfer of distribution is expected to be completed in 2016.

JSA says dealers and owners should see little impact during this time, with a “seamless transition” planned by the three parties for the continuity of customer service, motorcycle and service parts supply and warranty administration.
