Solid Shell
The Metro Rapid Helmet is available in 3 shell sizes with a total of 7 fits—XS, SM, MD, LG, XL, 2XL, and 3XL. It also offers the smallest shell possible for a modular helmet of its kind.
The shell is sturdy yet light in weight and is designed for optimum aerodynamic performance. The sturdy toughness of the design comes from a Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA) shell manufactured from a blend of polycarbonate and space age thermoplastics, among other materials. This blend is specially formulated by LS2 and cannot be found with other brands.
An added bonus feature of this design is that it offers dual homologation. That is, it can function as both a full face and an open face helmet.
Face Shield Features
LS2 has put in an FFS (Fog Fighter System) 3D optically corrected face shield for this helmet. So, not only is it anti-fog, it also cancels out any possibility of distortions in a user’s view.
This model also includes a Fog Fighter System insert lens. It is scratch resistant as well as UV protected and allows for easy, tool-less quick change.
In addition to these features, LS2 also provides an inner drop down sun shield for rides that will be stress-free for your eyes. A quick release system for the face shield further adds to the Metro Rapid Helmet’s user-friendliness and convenience.
Ventilation
The Metro Rapid Helmet gives supreme comfort, especially in hot weather and during long rides, by providing top and chin vents (with summer vents) and also an exhaust port at the back.
The intake vents at the chin bar are concealed under four removable plates. When more airflow is needed, these plates can be simply removed to improve ventilation. This can be quite useful in summer and the plates can be kept on in winter to keep out cold air.
Focus On Safety
The Metro Rapid Helmet houses a multi-density EPS. These have superior protective capabilities compared to regular EPS.
LS2 has also put in an emergency release system for its cheek pads which are made of laser-cut foam. Coupled with this feature is a quick release, security plate reinforced strap.
A full metal latch provided for the chin bar makes sure that it will stay locked when closed. LS2 proves that it will spare no expense to ensure safety by adding a solid detent at the top of the chin bar to make sure it will not drop unexpectedly.
Last but not least, the Metro Rapid Helmet is DOT approved, so its quality is up to the mark.

LS2 seems to have put a lot of thought into making its users’ riding experience as comfortable as possible.
The adjustable ventilation system keeps one cool in all weather conditions. The breath deflector also adds to a user’s comfort level.
The comfort padding, which is removable and washable, is made of a breathable fabric. The foam cheek pads are of such a quality that they do not allow hot spots. These are cut using LS2’s own 3D laser technology which allows for the most perfect fit and maximum comfort. The Metro Rapid Helmet also comes with a comfy neck roll.
The quick release chin strap make the helmet easy to put on and take off.

User Reviews
The majority of the Metro Rapid Helmet’s users are quite satisfied with its fit and comfort level. They agree that the cheek pads are a huge help on long rides and that they do not take long to adjust to the user’s face.
The helmet’s field shield’s view range has also been received well which, according to the users, provides excellent peripheral vision. Another plus point the fact that the helmet is bluetooth ready.
The vents are also a user-favorite, but only in hot weather. Many users have complained against them in cold weather and during rain. Some of these users have claimed that the removable plates that can be used to close the front vents are hard to put in and that without them, water easily enters the helmet.
There have also been complaints about the noise level. The noise level is significantly higher than what users had expected. A small portion of users have said that the inner drop down sun shield is too dark.

With the many features that the LS2 Metro Rapid Helmet offers, it is a good budget product. However, when its pros and cons are compared side-by-side, the helmet is more suited for someone who puts comfort over other features. The kind of comfort that its foam padding offers is perfect for long and tiring rides.
The adjustable ventilation system is also a huge plus point of this model, especially in summer weather. Even though there have been complaints regarding the front vents of the helmet (in cold weather, especially rains), it can be avoided to an extent by using the helmet’s removable plates. Considering the price of the Metro Rapid Helmet, buying another model that does not have this problem would cost a lot more money.
The Metro Rapid Helmet is not for you if noise is a big problem. However, if you prefer comfort over noise, then it is a good investment.
