Since Harley’s begun their journey with Hero Motocorp, we’ve been given a heads up that there’s a middleweight coming… but nothing else.
That changes today.
As of this month, deets on Hero X Harley’s new bike open up to include something called an “HD-4XX” – what we’re now coming to understand is an air/oil-cooled single-cylinder capable of around 400cc-450cc (under 40hp), in direct competition with Royal Enfield’s Classic 350.
If coverage from Motorcycle Sports is correct, the bike’s tubular steel chassis will be developed by Hero, who will inevitably premiere the thing to India’s saturated two-wheeled market – this year, no less.
On top of the above news, EvoIndia has released media to Instagram’s platform with what they’re saying is ‘gathered information’ on the HD-4XX.
She even comes with a list of specs:
- LED lighting
- USD forks
- TFT display with connectivity features
- 140/70-17 rear wheel and 100/80-18 front wheel with Ceat tyres
- Alloy wheels
- Seat height should be around 790-810mm
“Harley Davidson’s Royal Enfield Classic 350 challenger is here 🔥,” enthuses the Instagram post.
“We have just received a docket of images and information about Harley-Davidson’s latest bike, which has been developed for India by Hero MotoCorp! This motorcycle has nothing to do with the X350 that was showcased recently and has been designed and developed completely in India.”
Whether or not this machine is as she appears…. We’ll leave the guesswork up to you. The photos are mighty fine for ‘gathered’ shots, so the media collection is either a deliberate airing for PR purposes or a hell of an oopsie.
Do you think this media shows off the new middleweight bike from Hero x Harley?
