KTM Grows in Strength a Bit More
There have been rumors of a KTM and GasGas partnership of some kind. The companies announced the deal recently. GasGas Motorcycles is owned by Black Toro Capital is now officially in cooperation with KTM.
The company is mostly a trials and enduro bike company. The company has a good reputation among consumers but has struggled in recent years, which is why KTM set its sights on the company. According to RideApart, KTM not GasGas made the announcement.
It’s unclear how employees of GasGas feel about the partnership. Four years ago, there were protests when KTM expressed interest in the company. It will be interesting to see how things develop in the future.
GasGas will continue to produce bikes in Spain and under the same brand. The electric brand Torrot will also continue as it has in the past. It’s likely that the two brands will work more closely together on projects as the relationship progresses.
The rumor is that KTM bought 60 percent of GasGas when it entered into this partnership, but that information was not provided in the announcement and its validity is unclear. What is clear, is that the Pierer Mobility Group keeps growing.
As RideApart points out, the company is quickly becoming the Volkswagen AG of the motorcycle market. KTM keeps expanding and is on track to become one of the top players in the motorcycling world. If this makes for better and more KTM and GasGas motorcycles, I’m all for it.
