The KTM 1050 Adventure now gives the Austrian manufacturer four models in its adventure range.
KTM Australia spokesman Greg Chambers says this entry-level “adventure travel” bike arrives in February 2015, at $18,995 plus on-road costs which is $1000 less than the 1190 Adventure.
It is based on the 1190 engine but with a smaller bore and stroke (103/63mm) and 70kw of power compared with the 1190’s 78kW and 105Nm of torque compared with 125Nm.
The KTM 1050 Adventure weighs 212kg which is the same as the 1190 Adventure.
It comes with ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, KTM Ride Mode technology, WP suspension and Brembo brakes.
It will come with a comprehensive KTM range of accessories including luggage, heated seats and grips and alarm system.
The new model unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan is specifically targeted at Europe where its engine can be restricted further to make it eligible for novice riders.
The adventure line-up now includes the 1190, 1190 R and the 1290 unveiled at Intermot last month in Cologne.
