In builder Lock Baker’s words: it’s called Knucklegame because it is a “game” to tune a motor like this; very challenging but also potentially rewarding if won! I made custom intake runners and welded them into the heads, then blended the insides, and capped them off with a pair of 38mm Lectron carbs. These particular Lectrons did not have the optional fuel enricher circuit since they were off of a drag bike, so I made some external chokes integrated into the carb mouths. This allows the carbs to be manually choked to prime the bike for starting. In addition to these top end modifications, the bottom end also received its fair share. The flywheels are original HD items, but were shaved down to almost half their original weight. This does take some of the low end torque out of the motor, but when combined with the upgraded top end air flow, makes the knuckle a lot faster and more useful higher in the RPM range where stock knuckles begin to “fall off”…
