When Ixon was introduce to the Australian market in 2005, it arrived with an enormous range of textile jackets and pants that had a huge impact on our market.
Suddenly there was a vast range of sizes, colours and styles we had not seen before.
“Most importantly, there was quite a large dedicated women’s range of products, that were able to be feminine without just being pink,” says Dave Maddock of Ficeda Accessories.
Now they have increased their range with more CE-certified textile jackets, catering for all riders, all year round.
Ficeda boss Matt Dowd says CE certification means riders will have confidence in the product.
“With data coming to light showing that, on average, approximately 5000 motorcyclists are injured each year (taken over a four-year period), it shows that we have a responsibility to offer products of the highest standards available in order for Australian motorcyclists to be able to best protect themselves, and continue doing what we all love, riding bikes,” he says.
The jackets feature Aaron CE elbow and shoulder protectors conforming to EN1621-1 and Knox CE back protectors conforming to EN1621-2 (where applicable).
They also have materials exclusive to Ixon, such a Noxiguard, a high-density weave of 600D polyester fibres with an exclusive double coating to increase the material’s resistance.
Ixon’s summer textile collection complies and exceeds under the 89/686/CE directive.
Men’s jackets are Typhon Race HP, Cyclic HP, Airway HP, Dune HP and women’s jackets are Celesta HP and Rainbow HP. Prices start from $209.95 for the Airway HP and Rainbow HP.
Ixon’s complete CE collection is available through most motorcycle stores.
