Indian motorcycle unveils Scout Bobber

Indian Motorcycle has jumped on the bobber bandwagon with their minimalist, low-slung Scout Bobber in a choice of five colours.

The new Scout Bobber will be available in Australia in late October in Thunder Black, Star Silver Smoke, Bronze Smoke, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Thunder Black Smoke from $18,995 ride away.

The Bobber features tracker handlebars, leather two-tone solo seat, pegs moved 38mm closer to the rider and 25mm lowered rear suspension for a more muscular urban feel.

Styling-wise it has chopped fenders, a black headlight nacelle, black instrument gauge, minimal engine covers, vented black exhaust and a new block letter logo on the tank.

It’s possibly the bike the Scout should have been from the start and looks more like the sadly underrated Victory Octane.

Shame it doesn’t have that axed model’s high-quality rear shock to improve ride and handling!

It follows a long line custom and limited edition Scout models.

The most recent was limited-edition run of 50 FTR750 racers for sale in the US at $US50,000 to celebrate the company’s triumphant return to flat track racing in the US.

It’s not available in Australia, but Indian Motorcycle Australia has been busy with custom and limited edition models.

They recently commissioned four Wall of Death Scout models from Antique Motorcycles in Melbourne for display in their Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth stores, and four Aussie-only limited-edition custom models – LE Mk I, Mk II and Mk III, and Franklin Edition – all of which sold out in rapid time.

So the company should be confident in this new production bobber version of their most popular motorcycle.

Country manager Peter Harvey certainly thinks so.

“The Scout Bobber is our most raw and mean machine to date, and the ultimate in the celebration of what motorcycling is about – a powerful engine, two wheels, and no plans of where to go,” he says.

“It’s an incredibly fun motorcycle that delivers a ton of attitude, along with a ton of power.”
