Honda Australia has issued a safety recall on their PCX 125 and PCX 150 scooters over an issue with the top box falling off.
In the recall issued through the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission, Honda says the rear locking hook on the top box mounting kit “may deteriorate due to general road usage and constant bumping, which can cause the top box to become dislodged”.
“If the top box becomes dislodged, it may fall into the path of other traffic or road users and may cause an accident,” the notice says.
Honda Australia advises the PCX top box mounting kit will be replaced at no cost to the owner. Owners should call any authorised Honda dealer and make an appointment to have their scooter repaired, “at their earliest convenience”.
The Thai-made scooters were introduced in November 2009, but Honda Australia no longer sells them. The PCX 125 features a stop-start function that turns the scooter off when stopped to save fuel.
This recall follows another Honda scooter recall yesterday over stalling issues on the Forza.
