Honda, Indian and Victory are the first to offer discounts in the usual round of winter deals to heat up sales in the new financial year.
Last year Honda was also first to offer winter discounts along with Suzuki.
This time, Honda is offering free on-road costs until August 31 on the 2016 CBR500R and “scooter deals” on the PCX150, Dio 110, Forza 300 and Benly 110, although they don’t say what those deals are!
Free on-roads include CTP, stamp duty and 12-months registration, but not the dealer delivery fee.
They are listed at $8099, but might cost a bit more depending on your dealer.
The Honda CBR500R was a top seller last year, but has slipped to 10th place in the learner-approved category this year.
It is powered by a 471cc DOHC engine with a steel diamond-tube frame and comes in Candy Energy Orange, Millennium Red, Pearl Metalloid White and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
For 2016, the CBR500R received a cosmetic facelift with a sharper nose with with angular dual LED lights and a bobbed upswept tail.
It also gets adjustable pre-load for front suspension, larger fuel tank with hinged fuel cap, adjustable brake levers, “wave” style ignition key and a shorter exhaust muffler with deeper note, all for an extra $100.
Meanwhile, Victory and Indian Motorcycle dealerships are holding an Independence Day Sale until July 4 with varying discounts across their range, as well as 10% off all Victory and Indian apparel and accessories.
Independence Day will also be the celebration of Victory Motorcycles’ 18th birthday!
