Emissions Documents Confirm 2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke RR

An Extra R, But With the Same Power

The motorcycle news industry has lots of sneaky little secrets for gaining intel for upcoming motorcycle models; scouring trademark, patent, and emissions documents are one way. Through recently published emissions documents, we can see confirmation that 2021 will bring us a 1290 Super Duke RR in addition to the standard R.

The document shows that the R and RR version will be making the same power figures (177 horsepower) as last year, but this can also be taken as good news as that means that KTM managed a brilliant job of packing the new emissions tech into their bikes without sacrificing any power.

Although this emissions document strictly talks displacement and powertrain info, you can expect that the RR version will come with upgraded suspension, lighter components, and a special livery to accompany these changes.

In addition to the RR news, the document also lists the 890 Duke to be making 114 horsepower, with the 890 Duke R making 119 horsepower.

The 2021 Super Duke RR is not listed on the official KTM website, so we should expect an official unveiling with pricing and availability sooner than later. After all, 2021 is right around the corner!
