Back in 2023, the Bavarians revealed the CE 02 concept – an electric machine designed to cater to the younger-gen crowds, for an urban setting,
Now, the CE 02 is finally out and about, just in time for the continued seasonal shenanigans – and sporting a helluva price tag, too (for a Beemer beauty, anyways).
Despite the machine being partially named after the vaulting, jumping, climbing, and and sprinting sport that is parkour, don’t worry – rolling is pretty much all the CE 02 can boast, barring an occasional skid moment. 🙂
When it comes to the dint in the proverbial wallet, BMW’s 2024 CE 02 eParkourer shows off a bargain-friendly $7,599 USD pricetag, accompanying a reduced design, 291lb weight, and compatibility with the BMW Motorrad Connected app – all told, a versatile offering for the active kids of our cities proper.
For what it’s worth, we’re told the motor working underneath everything is good for 15 hp, with 40.6 lb-ft of yank available for your local, rev-happy haunts. That’s nothing crazy if you’re comparing it to BMW’s S 1000 RR, or even BMW’s first electric model in the CE lineup (the CE 04)… but it’s perfect for the clientele BMW’s targeting.
“With the CE 02, we are striving for something new at BMW Motorrad and want to be pioneers once again,” explains Edgar Heinrich, Head of BMW Motorrad Design, in a recent press release.
“Thanks to its unusual proportions and striking graphics, the new CE 02 is an uncomplicated, youthful form of single-track mobility. The reduced design language stands for lightness and fun.”
“The focus is not on utility, but on emotional appeal, riding pleasure, and uncomplicated, almost intuitive use.”
Of course, we’re interested in everything that comes with the 2042 CE 02. The following is directly sourced from BMW’s press release for transparency and ease of access:
