If you’re travelling to Italy and plan to ride around the country, sampling Italian wines and dining on fine food, Ducati has just the smartphone app for you.
The free app is called Taste of Joy and fits into their “Land of Joy” theme of the marketing for their very popular Scrambler models which have quickly risen to the top of their sales.
The graphically attractive app lists 150 dining venues around Italy where you can sample the Italian delights, while riding some of their more challenging motorcycle roads.
Not only does the app list the restaurants, cafes, kiosks, pubs, bars and tourist farms, but it also shows you the best way to get there.
Riders can select a destination based on how exciting the route is or choose from the dining menu so you can let your stomach be your guide.
The interactive app also has a practical side, indicating the location of every fuel stop along the way so you don’t have an empty tank and tummy!
Ducati says the app will be updated every six months so you don’t ride to a restaurant and find it’s gone out of business.
The app takes up 3.1Mb of download space and is compatible with iOS 8.1 or later on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. An android version is coming.
The Ducati Scrambler is now the most popular model ahead of the Mulitistrada.
