Cardo Scala Rider Q1 and Q3 Music Sharing Intercoms Announced
UPDATE: Cardo Scala Rider Q1 and Q3 Review
May 1, 2013 – Cardo Systems, Inc. has announced two all-new additions to its Scala Rider product line: the rider-to-passenger Q1 TeamSet and the bike-to-bike capable Q3 MultiSet and Q3 Single.
Replacing the popular Solo, TeamSet and Q2Pro products, the new Scala Rider Q1 and Scala Rider Q3 feature a sleek new design with outstanding ergonomics, longer battery life and new features and functions.
As another industry “first”, the Q1 TeamSet offers a music sharing feature, allowing both rider and passenger the ability to listen to the same song from their smartphone or any other A2DP source.
Both the Q1 and Q3 also come with optional boom-mounted or corded microphones and replaceable speakers, for riders who prefer to use their own personal headphones. The Q1 and Q3 also include A2DP Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in FM radio with RDS, voice activation, a fully waterproof/dustproof housing and Cardo’s unique “Click-to-Link” pairing, as described in the webBikeWorld Cardo Scala Rider G9 review.
Cardo Scala Rider Q1 TeamSet
The Q1 TeamSet includes two factory-paired units in the retail box and is ideal for communication between rider and passenger.
Cardo Scala Rider Q3 MultiSet
The Q3 MultiSet adds increased range for bike-to-bike intercom communication up to 1,100 yards, as well as intercom toggling between up to 4 riders on two separate bikes or three riders on three separate bikes.
“The Scala Rider Q-line is, by far, the bestselling Bluetooth helmet communication system in the world, with over 1.5 million units sold,” said Cardo CEO Abraham Glezerman.
“With its new and streamlined design, even more useful features and intuitive operability, we’re confident the new Q1 and Q3 systems will continue that trend.”
The new Scala Rider products come in three distinct retail packages: The Q1 TeamSet (containing two factory paired Q1 units), the Q3 (a stand-alone unit), and the Q3 MultiSet (containing two factory paired Q3 units).
Scala Rider products will be available through Cardo retailers beginning in early May.
The list price is $249.95 for the Scala Rider Q1 TeamSet and $389.95 for the Q3 MultiSet. The Q3 will also be available as an individual unit, with single-headset systems retailing for $219.95.
