BRP has issued a worldwide recall on the current model Can-Am Spyder ST and RT over brake issues. Read my review here.
In the Australian recall notice issued today, it says the tandem master cylinder manifold inlet may melt and cause brake fluid to leak.
“If the brake fluid leaks on to a heat source this may lead to a vehicle fire,” the notice says.
Owners should call an authorised BRP Can-Am roadster dealer and make an appointment to have the roadster repaired.
The dealer will perform this work free of charge.
BRP also issued safety recalls in 2010 and last year. The first recall was for stalling in Spyders with the SE5 semi-automatic transmission and the two recalls in December were for fuel vapour leakage from the fuel cap.
Believe it or not, but Cambridge Metal and Plastics has issued a recall in the USA on its “Moose Racing” training wheels for kids bikes such as a Honda XR/CRF 50, Kawasaki KDX/Suzuki JR 50, KTM 50, Suzuki DRZ 70, Yamaha PW50 or Yamaha TTR 50.
The notice says the fitting bolts can come loose.
