Caberg has outdone itself again with a big upgrade to its integrated comm unit range!

Meet the Caberg PRO SPEAK EVO, brought to markets via updater software generated by Midlands. This neat pilot-passenger package features an integrated comm unit compatible with any of the integrated connectivity and control systems offered by “the major motorcycle manufacturers (BMW, KTM, Ducati, etc.).”

We’re also told that all of Caberg’s helmets featuring an ECE 22.06 homologation do not change in rating with the integration of PRO SPEAK EVO – a compliance that shows off the hard work of this ongoing partnership.

Curious about which helmets Caberg had in mind when making the PRO SPEAK EVO with Midland? Caberg was kind enough to list them for us:

Per Caberg’s recent press release, the PRO SPEAK EVO is waterproof, good for 7-8 hours, and works at an intercom distance of 200 meters (that’s 656 feet or 0.1 miles). She also has DSP noise suppression and works off of Bluetooth 5.0 for any of the below setups:

  • Headset profile
  • Hands-Free Profile (HFP)
  • A2DP
  • AVRCP

Alas, if you work off of Apple devices, this thing is only upgradeable via PC – no Mac option (yet) in sight.

Still, considering we’ve got a fully-functioning, waterproof comm unit specced to ECE 22.06 homologation that’s good for 7-8 hours of performance from 656 feet and charges up in 2.5 (with updates at your friend’s house if you’re an iBeliever), we anticipate the PRO SPEAK EVO will do extremely well when she is released into the wild.

We haven’t a specific price point yet on this product, but we’ve got a recommended retail price from Italy24 that states the unit will go for around €119.99, or $132 USD. Very nice, Caberg X Midland.

“Being able to deal with an Italian and professional company like Midland was an excellent opportunity for our company,” states a proud Virginia Capelli, the Managing Director for Caberg.

“The continuous contact between our technicians and Midland technicians has thus allowed us to market a versatile and practical product to communicate in complete safety during our customers’ travels! We are sure that this is the first step of a new collaboration that will allow us to offer the market further products that are safe and easy to use by all motorcyclists in the coming years.”

“In recent years we have worked closely with representatives of Caberg, with the sole objective of allowing motorcyclists from all over the world to fully experience the joy of “communicating” safely and comfortably while riding,” adds Gabriele Torreggiani, Midland Europe Vice President.

“Together we will in fact guarantee a better ride experience for all motorcyclists, responding to the need to communicate in an increasingly transversal and open way to all, without compromises and without technological limits.”
