It seems “dark white” is the new black, according to BMW Motorrad.
The company is about to release a limited edition R 1200 R roadster in “Dark White”.
From the photo we can assure you it is not the next model to get the new partially water-cooled boxer engine from the R 1200 GS.
The R retains the airhead engine and is just a limited edition with some cosmetic updates, probably as a run-out before the water cooled-model arrives.
BMW Motorrad Australia production communication manager Scott Croaker confirmed the bike will be available here “very early next year” with pricing probably announced in November.
The new model features contrasting white paintwork and black drivetrain and wheels.
The frame is grey, while the swingarm, rear axle housing and triangular wishbone are matt black with black anodised fork tubes.
It comes with a short “sports” windshield and there will be a range of accessories available.
