For those who can’t do the epic Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre in August, the Black Dog 1 Dayer is for you.
The annual Black Dog Ride was started in 2009 to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention and to raise much-needed funds while the shorter 1 Dayer was started the following year.
So far the 1 Dayer has raised $430,000 for mental health services and awareness of depression and suicide prevention. Last year, almost 7000 riders participated.
The ride will be held this year on Sunday March 22 event with 30 rides organised in every state and territory across Australia. Click here for more details on the ride in your state.
Organisers have asked those who plan to attend to register before midnight on March 15 so ride co-ordinators can properly cater for the influx of riders.
Those who register early will go in the draw for a unique 9ct gold handcrafted 2015 Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer signet ring designed by Black Dog Rider Clayton Gordon.
The raffle will be drawn by Founder Steve Andrews at the Wangaratta leg of the 1 Dayer.
