Bikesystems Marketing Manager Michelle Coupe says they are running a “tiny bit” behind production schedule.
“Perfectionists as we are, the testing team have done some slight repositioning on the eyepiece. Other than that – we’re set to go!
“Motorbike Writer will be testing the HUD for us and therefore we will see if the slogan fits the riding experience.”
She says the response to the competition has been “marvellous” and she would like to thank all entrants.
“It’s been great to read all the slogans,” she says.
“Actually, your Australian readership have given us some great marketing feedback on how the HUD ADVENTURE will be perceived through the writing of their slogans. So for me personally as marketing manager for the HUD, it’s been particularly interesting. We are really looking forward to the release of our product in Australia, and now we have a great tag line to go with it!”
She says they decided on the “BIKEHUD – it’s your HUDVENTURE” slogan because it encapsulates everything they wanted to say about the new HUD ADVENTURE in one sentence.
“It’s catchy, and will look great on our advertising in Australia. Furthermore, riding the HUD will indeed be an adventure; it will provide a unique riding experience to enjoy. Combining the two words together is a great play on words.
“When you’re marketing a product you want something that will make people sit up, take notice. and go ‘Ah clever’ which was our reaction here in the office. Nikolas ticked all the boxes with his entry.”
Bikesystems BikeHUD ADVENTURE Gen2 is the world’s only commercially available head-up display (HUD) unit for motorcycle helmets.
It can be set up to display vital information such as speed or GPS directions on a transparent screen just inside the visor so you don’t have to look away from the road.
The unit can be positioned just to the left or to the right of your main view.
It is focussed so the rider doesn’t have to refocus their eyes or look away from the road in front.
The system has its own forward and rear-facing cameras to eliminate blind spots and can interface with any existing Bluetooth sound system.
A clever function is the phone answering system. If the phone rings while you are riding, you will see who’s calling and if you want to answer, just nod your head. If you don’t want to be disturbed while you’re out having fun on your bike, just shake your head to reject the call.
Apps from a smart phone for GPS information, advanced warning of hazards, safety cameras, weather and traffic etc. can also relay information to the rider via the display. You can tailor exactly what information you want displayed.
Prices for the BikeHUD Adventure start at $A400.
