A truly remarkable creation, the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S custom, is a tribute to the USS Milwaukee, the naval vessel from Harley-Davidson’s hometown on Lake Michigan in southeastern Wisconsin. Conceived by Harley-Davidson Chief Stylist Ray Drea, this special motorcycle was unveiled at the company’s Milwaukee headquarters and showcased during the USS Milwaukee’s commissioning ceremony on November 21, 2015.
The design takes inspiration from Harley-Davidson’s World War II-era bikes used by the U.S. Navy, featuring a distinct Battleship Gray paint matched to U.S. Navy specifications. Key naval elements are integrated into the design, such as the U.S. Navy logo on the medallion, the USS Milwaukee crest on the front fender, and the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) designation on the rear fender.
Notable modifications include blacked-out chrome parts, a custom air intake modeled after ship speakers, and the honor of being commissioned by Lockheed Martin to benefit the National Military Family Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting military service members and their families.
