The 2023 Zero FXE Introduces Riders To Thrilling Electric Motorcycles
Contents
The Zero FXE is the Supermoto option in the 2023 Zero Motorcycles lineup and is built on the groundbreaking Zero ZF 75-5 powertrain and Cypher II operating system, coupled with new LED head and tail lights. It also features a full-color, 5-inch TFT dash that outshines other American electric motorcycles well above its class. With a tap of a button, you can change riding profiles to conquer city streets or your local supermoto track. It comes pre-programmed with Eco or Sport modes and can be connected to your mobile device to customize performance or to get stats on your ride.
The FXE weighs in at just 289 pounds thanks to its precision-built and light weight aluminum frame. It has no gears and clutch and features an upright riding position.
The heart of the FXE is its Z-Force 7.2kWh battery, designed to last and backed by a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty. It also features a Long Term Storage Mode to optimize the battery’s state of charge and further improve long-term battery health. Charging is easy and discreet. The 650W onboard charger can be plugged into any household outlet, and charge times can be significantly reduced by using optional Quick Chargers.
The FXE’s powerplant produces a whopping 78 foot-pounds of torque which challenges rival American Motorcycle brands in many categories. The air-cooled Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor delivers impressive performance and fierce acceleration. It works in conjunction with regenerative braking to channel energy back into the battery.
The Bosch anti-lock brake system (ABS) ensures confident braking and is available in other bikes that Zero offers. This system optimizes deceleration under hard braking, with levers that can be adjusted for improved ergonomics. The ABS can be switched on or off by the rider, giving you full control of your ride..
It boasts a city range of 100 miles and a highway range of 60 miles at 55 mph. It packs a punch with a peak torque of 78 ft-lb and a peak power of 46 horsepower. It can reach a maximum top speed of 85 mph and a sustained top speed of 75 mph. It also features a Showa 41mm inverted cartridge forks at the front and a Showa 40mm piston piggy-back reservoir shock at the rear, offering impressive suspension travel of 7 inches at the front and almost 9 inches at the rear. The seat height is a comfortable 32.9 inches, perfect for riders of different sizes.
