A Ride Through History With The 2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350
Contents
The 2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a revival of a design that’s reminiscent of the golden era of British motorcycling. Drawing inspiration from the post-war G2 model of the 1950s, the latest Classic 350 maintains the iconic teardrop fuel tank, signature thump, and casquette headlamp, all contributing to the enduring appeal of the Royal Enfield Classic.
Royal Enfield uses the same 349cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-oil cooled engine found elsewhere in the brand’s bikes. This engine generates the same 20 horsepower as the other and is paired with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox, electronic fuel injection, and wet multi-plate clutch.
The Classic 350’s chassis and suspension are designed to provide a comfortable ride, featuring a twin downtube spine frame, 41mm telescopic front forks with 130mm travel, and twin tube emulsion shock absorbers at the rear with 6-step adjustable preload. With dimensions that include a 54.7-inch wheelbase, 6.7-inch ground clearance, and 31.69-inch seat height, the motorcycle is both maneuverable and accessible for riders of varying experience levels.
Weighing in at 430 lbs with 90% fuel and oil, the Classic 350 may be heavier than some of the other bikes in the 2023 Royal Enfield lineup, but its wide handlebars, upright seating position, and easy-going power delivery make it easy to handle, especially at slow speeds. The non-adjustable suspension offers more than five inches of travel, allowing the bike to smoothly navigate rough road conditions.
The Classic 350 is fitted with Ceat tires, an Indian brand that offers excellent grip and performance for various road conditions, from twisty mountain roads to urban freeways. However, the bike’s top speed is around 75 mph, making it less suitable for long-distance commuting or high-speed runs.
The 2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 starts at $4,599 USD/$6,229 CAD
