Last year we saw the introduction of the Nightster, and this year Harley Davidson removed the headlight cowl from the base Nightster and expanded the “Sport” section of their 2023 motorcycle lineup with the new Nightster Special.
A headlight cowl alone is certainly not enough to make a classic American legend like the Sportster family, worthy of being called Special. In fact, there are 8 key changes over and above the standard Nightster.
Leading things off, the most in-your-face upgrade has to be the new round TFT display. It is bold and bright and delivers all the main information, beautifully. The new display needs an improved method of navigating the features, so you will find both bars have many new buttons for accessing all the tech. The new display also has Bluetooth connectivity to your phone. Plus there are now 2 additional custom riding modes. The Special enjoys standard tire pressure monitoring and cruise control.
The Special adds new bar risers, bringing the bars up 2 inches and back to the rider 1 inch. There is a pillion pad for 2up rides, and of course a headlight cowl. For the small upcharge, the Nightster Special is a fantastic value.
4 color choices exist for the 2023 Harley Davidson Nightster Special: Vivid Black, Black Denim, Bright Billiard Blue, and Industrial Yellow.
